The Opportunity:
The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will have significant cross functional and leadership team exposure as they are responsible for providing critical corporate accounting support to the finance department and CFO. The Staff Accountant is expected to perform the month-end close and reporting process and will be involved in the preparation for and assistance during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit with the Company’s external auditors, including internal controls over financial reporting. The Staff Accountant is expected to understand the Electromed Quality System and support its implementation.
Job Outcomes You Must Get:
- Perform month-end close, monthly financial statements, as well as financial reporting for quarterly and annual filings Provide transactional, research, and project support for Revenue, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable activity
- Process bi-weekly payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Prepare account reconciliations for various accounts including fixed assets and prepaid assets
- Provide support for audits by external entities, including direct interaction with the external auditors, preparing supporting schedules, gathering information, and providing analysis as requested
- Continuous development and documentation of accounting related processes and procedures
- Responsible for internal control documentation over financial reporting
- Participate in process improvements and system implementations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Outcomes Requirements:
- 4-year degree (BS or BA) in Accounting or Finance
- Problem solving and solution-oriented thinking
- Attention to detail
- Time management and organizational skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Microsoft applications, emphasis on advanced Excel skills
- Internal control/SOX experience
- Knowledge in QAD a plus
