The Opportunity:
The Hospital Account Liaison plays a critical role in driving patient referrals and supporting smooth transitions from hospital to home. In this role, you’ll manage an assigned territory, cultivate strong referral relationships, and serve as a trusted clinical and business partner to hospitals and care teams.
This position blends your clinical expertise, relationship-building skills, and passion for patient care, all while helping patients breathe easier with Smartvest Airway Clearance therapy.
Job Outcomes You Must Get:
- Referral Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hospital discharge planners, case managers, physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists.
- Facilitate patient discharges from hospital to home, prioritizing consistent face-to-face engagement.
- Territory & Relationship Development
- Cultivate and maintain strong referral relationships within an assigned geographic territory.
- Build trust and credibility with all stakeholders involved in patient discharge planning.
- Education & Presentations
- Educate hospitals, referral sources, and community partners on Electromed programs and services.
- Partner with the Electromed Clinical Area Manager to deliver in-services and professional presentations to both clinical and non-clinical audiences, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
- Insurance & Documentation Support
- Obtain and manage required clinical documentation for patient referrals.
- Ensure Medicare ICD-10 criteria and insurance authorization requirements are met.
- Patient Assistance & Training
- Provide bedside delivery, setup, training, and education for the SmartVest Airway Clearance device prior to patient discharge.
- Ensure patients and caregivers feel confident using prescribed therapy at home.
Job Outcomes Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant and equivalent experience.
- Active RT or RN clinical license in state of employment, plus current CPR certification.
- 2+ years of clinical experience or healthcare sales experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Experience selling into acute care hospitals or working closely with hospital clinical teams (RT, case management, discharge planning) preferred.
- Experience supporting patient transitions of care from hospital to home health, DME, or post-acute services preferred.
- Understanding of DME reimbursement, payer requirements, and documentation needed for respiratory therapy equipment preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain hospital vendor credentialing as required.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle.
- Able to travel for initial training and within territory to sell successfully.
